How did your group communicate and educational message, and what was the message?

The messages  that my group communicated was that it is not right to steal, good things come to those who wait. Think before you act, and you can achieve anything you want if you try hared enough and also give people a second chance.
The audience knew we where conveying this message because we told them at the end when we concluded our play.

The audience sometimes dose not think about message you are trying to convey in a play until they have reflected on the events that have happened, so we thought it was wise to make it as obvious as possible, hence we concluded the end of the with each character stating what they have learnt. their own personal morel.

How was your play on fairy-tale/ pantomime genre?

My  play was based around the classic story of Gloddie Locks and the 3 bears. In Gloddie Locks and 3 bears Goddie Locks went to the 3 bears house while they where out. Chante went to the Johnson's  house while they where out.

Gloddie Locks went into the 3 bears house with out permission in an extent breaking and entering. Chante  picked the locks to the Johnson's house.

Whilst Gloddie Locks was in the house she eat the bears food, she damaged  the chairs and fell asleep. Chante picked the lock of the door which damaged it,she stole jewellery and other objects. Chante tripped on a toy car and fell unconscious.

The 3 bears came home to find Gloddie locks sleeping in their house. The Johnson's came home to find Chante unconscious in their house.

These incidents show how my play can be linked to the story of Gloddie Locks and the 3 bears. The audience would be able to link these events together.

A pantomime is an interactive play in my eyes, where characters in the pantomime interact  with the audience. The characters could interact with the audience by asking them such questions such as "where has he gone" and the audience would reply or even by letting them hold a important prop .

In my play we asked the audience what should we do in this person for example we asked "should we let Chante off after entering the house.

Also when Jason(me) was doing his mono-log he gave one of the audience his ring which was one of the last things he had left of his dead wife.

This is why I believe my play is a pantomime.

How was your performance pitched at your target audience (year 6)

My performance was targeted at year audience because I thought that year 6's are growing children who may not all like a childish aimed fairy tail, so bearing that all in mind we decided to put a modern twist on it.
we used Modern issues such as:
  • Drink driving
  • unemployment
  • Gangs
  • domestic abuse

These issues are all present in the modern day. They are things we hear in the news. The year 6's are soon going to be transitioning to year 7 and they need to aware of what is happening in the real world and its not just a nice tale.

Based around this idea that is how we developed and made our play.

How did you use drama techniques such as Narration, freeze frames, interaction with the audience, split scenes?

we used a drama technique of Narration when Chante was in the Johnson's house stealing the property, to make this more obvious we decided to use narration to show it.

We also used freeze frames at the end of scenes to indicate we going in to a new scene or and changing the scene layout. We also used it at the start of the scene so the audience could get a feel of the scene.

We were supposed to use split screen but we could not because some the actors where not there on time or did not come at all, but the show must go on so we worked around it.

since the performance was supposed to be a pantomime we had to interact with the audience.

we used character profiles to introduce the audience  members to the characters in the play
the character  profile was a brief outline of the character such as
Name:
Age:
Occupation:
Hobbies:
Dislikes;

This would having given the audience and insight to the character and also for the actor to know how to behave.

we used active monologs as well monologs. My understanding of Active monolg is other cast members helping the cast member at the time to act behind them what they are saying which is what happened when Pajrica was doing her monlog me and Junior diced to asseset her.We used monologs after dramatic events like when Jason threw the chair we did a Monolog after that to make the audience understand what is happening.

Discuss how you feel the audience responded to the performance?

I feel the audience response to the performance was better than I thought because we had actors not there and fleet like the performance was going to be a disaster because some actors where not willing to co-operate . I had to take on an additional role as well as playing my original role , which meant i had to be changing characters very quickly.

One the whole it went better than i thought because the audience seemed engaged to what was happening and they gave me positive  feedback after when they saw me.I think when we added little parts of improvised it made it more interesting.

Did the children respond to the audience  participation? When was it most effective- Describe your character and what decisions you made about your character?

I    I think the children responded well to audience participation because they were answering  questions appropriately and they were willing to hold props for the actors.
Audience participation is when you get the audience involved in what you are doing weather that is asking them a question or getting them to hold a prop.
j   since this is my understanding of audience participation I do think that my pantomime responded in a respectable manor.

I think the audience participation improved while the pantomime was going along because audience warmed up. This can be linked to the first day of school when you are quite but as you get used to they people you start to talk and become friends with the other people in your class.

j    My character did use audience participation when he was preforming his monolog. I asked one of the audience members to hold my ring which was the last thing Jason had left of his dead wife whom was ran over by a drunk driver. Drinking is modern social  issue at the moment.

t     This piece of audience participation will get across the message of what drink drink can do.

How did you develop your character for the final performance using body language, facial expression, gesture, voice and costume?

This piece of writing shows what Jason true feelings are:

I'm crying
The tears are coming down my check
I shout but you don't hear a peep
I make mistakes
I'm not perfect but who is

I can't let you see me crying
Or what would you think
You won't give me a shoulder to lean on like they do in films
You push me away to the point where every single thing I do hurts

A boys cry is sad
Comes from the heart
A part you wouldn't think I have
It hurts
With every tear there's a word that goes with it a person a name the reason for that tear

I try to be strong but it's too much
To take
My heart hurts
I see you smiling but I can't
The worst part is when I do this you act like you don't care and I want to cry even more

But when I cry my self to sleep
I wake up and say this is gonna be new day
I put on a new face and I walk out the door

I don't turn back never turn back leave the past behind but it always catches up with you
It could be hiding behind the next turn
It's always there just open your eyes and you'll see it it never goes away

The only way to get rid of is to talk to it
So with the mucus running from your nose you tell it how you feel you think it's gonna give you a warm hug but it knocks you out for the count

Your out your trapped no hears cares or listens but the all see it

In the performance i have try and convey all of these feelings
Jason has to stay strong for Chante because this the only thing he has left.
he treats each day like a new day, so i have to try and keep positive and end on a high note
I can not smile that much because Jason is hurting but he does want people to now ,so I have to have a stiff upper lip.
I have to dress like i'm not living on much so i wear a black shirt and jogging bottoms.
At the end of the performance Jason finds a job so I have to look smart.

in the mono log i have to change the tone and pitch of Jason because at the start i want to come across as aggressive, in the middle I make a point about drink driving so I emphasis each word but at the end i have to a positive calm tone.

Discuss when your group used staging effectively?

Due to the fact that one of the actors was not their for the performance and practices we had to remove the split screen but on the whole it was great we worked around the space that we had.
we maximized every opportunity we had the audience could see what we where doing.

The audience came to watch the performance for many different reasons it could be for fun or to learn something   We the actors performing is giving them visual aid to understanding what is going on.This is why it is important to use staging effectively.

On the performance day discuss how the scene transitions worked

scene transition is the change of scenes. we a few problems with scene transitioning  but we all pulled through. we had a few scenes which where
     Jason's and Chante's house
      and the Johnson's house
     Theses seances looked fairly identical
We also did a scene on the street which was at the back of the Johnson's house.
To improve the scene we could of had nothing on the stage and just a sound track of the a road , so it could have been clearer what is happening.

scene transition worked by the lights going down to a dim low enough so we could see what we were doing. We as a group moved blocks and and chairs around or off/on to get the look we needed for the scene

What professional skills did you display during your performance? Was your consistently in role being receptive to your co-actors?

we as a group used the following professional skills  during our performance

n    mono-log  : To show how the character was feeling at the or even what is going on the characters head

active mono log: Is a forum of mongol with more visual aid such as if someone was dying the other        characters could be acting sickly or even act like they are dying

split screen : For 2 or events to be happening at the same time

freeze frame : to start or end a scene or to even show in depth what is happening

think out loud: to hear the characters thoughts

character profile: a basic outline of the character so the audience can think about what kind of person it is and for the actor to know how to act

I think i was consistently being role because to perform you have to stay in role and be realistic and i think i did this.

What were the strengths of your performance? What areas that need developing in your next performance?

I think the strengths my performance was being able to get along with things even though it is not what was planed. I think this because we had a missing actor and i had to filling for him and I think I did a good job at it.

An area I think I need to develop for the next performance is to plan what will happen if someone is not there and to be looking at the audience more because i feel i could have had more eye contact with the audience since they came to watch my performance.

Did your group all work as a team? If not why not why?

At The some members of the group where shy so I deiced to take the led to every had an equal share I made sure everyone's ideas were put into the performance so it was fair .

closer to the end some members stared to get distracted messing about during lessons and not attending rehearsal i think this is because maybe they for got what they actually wanted to get out of this process

What obstacles and problems did you face? How did you overcome these?

Some Obstacles we faced were ow energy levels but that was overcome by doing warm ups to get our minds ready.

another obstacle we faced was people not attending after after school rehearsals but that was overcome come bey having them during the day because some actors had other obligations  so we had to be understanding

If there's a obstacels we can always overcome it

How did you organize music, staging, props and costume?

I organized music ,staging ,props and Costume

For music i made a playlist of all the music and sound effects we need for our performance and labeled it to make it easier .

For staging i looked at how we look at the start and at the end of the scene to see if the audience would be able to see us and i organised how to leave the stage and the end.

I found the props in the Drama department prop room . i made sure it was something significant and clear.

For costume we either brought it from home or borrowed it from drama department

Was everyone in the group contributing and reliable?

some members such as Fevan Pracja and me put in more effort than others to be t rehearsals and but a positive contribution and where reliable they where always on time and made an effort to do work at home

we all have different ability and ways of thinking and if we do not put them together we will not get any where

What did you contribute to the performance?

I think i was more of a director and i was there when ever anybody need to talk.

How will you prevent the same problems in the future from happening during other units and for other group tasks?

the only way to prevent these problems happening is for everyone in the group to be positve and open minded
